This program is a gentle, yet effective herbal cleanse designed to promote better health by detoxifying the body. It combines Chinese and Western herbs known to enhance the detoxification functions of the colon, kidneys and liver.

This unique herbal combination works synergistically to also improve digestive and intestinal function, expel parasites, relieve inflammation and pain, relax abdominal cramping and spasms.

The 10 day cleanse involves a capsule each of the following for 10 days. 

1 Black Walnut (Juglans nigra) capsule:
Black walnut (fruit not nuts) have been traditionally used to expel intestinal worms. A  compound  isolated from black walnut  hulls,  known  as  juglone,  appears  to  be  responsible   for  the  herb's  antiparasitic   effects.  Juglone   also demonstrates  antimicrobial activity, anti-yeast, acts as a mild laxative, and enhances the liver's detoxifying functions; primarily phase 11 detoxification-a process by which the liver alters a toxic substance to make it less toxic and easier for  the  body  to  excrete. Black Walnut is an astringent and acts to tone and heal inflamed or damaged tissue. Black walnut is also a rich source of iodine, selenium, iron and EFAs.

1 Burdock Root (Arctium lappa) capsule:
Burdock is used primarily as a tonic herb and blood purifier (or alterative-a substance that increases vitality by improving the breakdown and excretion of toxins and waste) to improve overall health and enhance digestion. It is the primary detoxifying herb in both eastern and Western Herbalism. Burdock provides mild diaphoretic (stimulates perspiration), diuretic and laxative actions to encourage the release of toxins from the body. Burdock also stimulates bile secretions and has exhibited hepatoprotective (liver-protecting) effects in animal studies. In addition, burdock contains high concentrations of naturally occurring fructooligosaccharides (FOS), which help promote the growth of healthy intestinal flora. Burdock has also demonstrated some degree of antibacterial activity, as well as anticandidal (destroys or inhibits the growth of Candida yeast) effects. Burdock is used historically for acne, abscesses, boils, skin rashes, eczema and psoriasis.  Also used for heavy metal poisoning and inflammatory conditions.

1 Cascara & Buckthorn Combination capsule:
Cascara & Buckthorn combination is an intestinal stimulant, also referred to as a lower bowel-cleansing formula. This combination contains a blend of herbs that stimulate the production of digestive fluids and bile to promote peristaltic action in the colon, relax abdominal cramping and spasms, enhance liver function, purify the blood, neutralize acidic conditions, destroy intestinal parasites and worms, and fight infection. It also contains herbs that improve digestion, relieve pain and inflammation in the body, and stimulate urine flow to expel toxins and cleanse the urinary tract.
 

1 Peony & Cinnamon Combination capsule:
Peony and Cinnamon combination provides a blend of 12 herbs that not only protect the liver and support healthy liver function, but also promote the health of the gallbladder, spleen and stomach. The herbs in this combination work synergistically to help prevent liver damage from drugs and environmental toxins, as well as improve circulation and digestion, relax muscle spasms, and calm anxiety and irritability often associated with liver problems.
 
1 Psyllium Hulls (Plantago ovata) capsule:
Psyllium hulls (or husk) are a dietary fibre that has been shown to shorten gastrointestinal transit time and increase stool weight and moisture content. Effective against both constipation and diarrhea, psyllium hulls are effective for restoring and/or maintaining regular and easy bowel movements. Psyllium hulls have also been shown in numerous medical studies to lower serum total cholesterol and LDL cholesterol levels. The Quarterly Journal of Medicine, researchers reported that patients with IBS who took psyllium stayed in remission whereas those who swapped to a placebo, or ceased taking the supplement, relapsed.

1 Gentian & Cascara Combination capsule:
Gentian and Cascara combination is a unique combination of 17 herbs designed to detoxify the body and strengthen the eliminative functions of the colon, kidneys and liver. This combination improves digestion and absorption of nutrients to combat nutritional deficiency and nourish the body. It also contains herbs that reduce inflammation, shrink swollen tissues, improve immunity to fight infection, purify the blood, and neutralize acidity. 

Taking one of each capsule daily are recommended; however, should stools become too loose, simply reduce the number of times taken. Some individuals may experience symptoms such as bad breath, body odour, headache, or slight nausea-signs that indicate the cleanse is working and accumulated wastes are being eliminated. Although uncomfortable at first, these symptoms typically disappear within the first 5 days and are followed by an increase in energy, alertness, and an improved sense of health and well-being.
